the third album by the project known as bichlid, it is a chaotic beautiful mess. This is a prime album by the great floyd. The tracks on this album deliver a great sense on uncertainty throughout, with only small breaks to breathe. This album is you in a pool and you can't swim, trying to do swimming lessons, but scared of the water. A successful album, delivering a great feeling at the end. Thanks man. - ntix

review from me:

a weird journey. this album was inspired by my newfound interest in ableton. I recently got ableton live 10 lite and i tried to use it to my full potential. During the production process I started listening to four tet, and i managed to listen to all of his albums in one sitting. The oldest track here was i believe the first track, "bibins_2", which was a demo that I did to test out ableton. It sounded very cool, so i decided to put it first to simmer the listener in. "eloari", the following track, was a very minimal tech house thing. This song was my first ever house track that I made ever. It isn't that great. There wasn't that much exciting things, making it very minimal. It isn't dancey, but I respect it for it's sparseness. "glast&hull" is the final track in the introduction. The chord progression was initially supposed to be written as a piano piece, but once i put it into this song, it was pristine. A nice banger.

Now, the shit starts. "良い曲", in romaji, "yoi kyoku", meaning good song. A short interlude with vocals by me years ago trying to say a badly translated conversation. Inspired by bogdan raczynski.

Skotgc9 is a nice dance track that just deconstructs into a big mess at the end. Looking back this was a poorly produced song, just a looped synth, me saying "Hmmm, huh" and a mix of 606, 808, and 707 beats. The saving grace was the glitch outro that steadily mixed to "DURMB", one of my favorite songs off of the album. a general drum n bass song that starts to go haywire, i really like this song.

The next song is "mmbruas", a track in 7/8 that is just a clutter. Sounding like it has no structure, but it still sounds cohesive. This song was really fun to make, and it is a very confusing sounding track. The clutter of noise fucks up at the end, and it is completed in perle, pt. 1 and 2. perle is separated in two parts to let them realize the structure of the album. pt. 1 is steady, while pt. 2 is a sparse clutter of buildups and falldowns, things happening in every corner, packed in a 2 minute song.

"sligqs" is the final song that finally reaches to the climax, which is the grimy, fast, discordant, yet very positive, "Multorn." sligqs is a direct cousin of "mmbruas", with sligqs being maximal dystopia, while mmbruas being natural confusion. "sligqs" was my version of trying to replicate autechre/old dubstep, like burial/the bug. It came out well, it sounds like an ambient thing. I did not like the mastering I did on this track, it sounded too low. While it's good that it was low being that there was a lot of shit going on in the track, I feel disappointed because the track was designed to be played loud. Anyways, the resonant ambience at the end is a great touch.

"Multorn." Multorn., is.. a hell of a time. easily the greatest track in this album, it is a bombardment of chaotic drums, screeching crashes, and childish harps and bells, manipulated to a great extent. The backbone lies in the bass, which changes in meaning throughout the song. Easily my favorite track that i've made ever, close to untiled and track three in the multorn ep.

I realize that my production tactics generally go like this: Introduce a statement, develop on that statement, fuck it up. It is a very interesting way of producing, and the fuck up can either be very discreet or very apparent. It's good that the fuck up/breakdown is usually at the end, as it eludes to another song. When a fuck up happens at the beginning, it is contradictory as that is the statement. In order to fuck it up, you have to regain control. This is a great tactic I like to use in endings, apparent in the track "Multorn." Overall, this has been a great trip inside a childish, dystopian and deconstructive album. Best album i've ever made. i highly recommend you listen to this.
