about

Letter from the artist:

"this is a different album than the others because i used my voice, -12 transposition, roboticized my voice recordings to unintelligibility

no titles just random numbers no expectation

i wanted to go back to do stuff that i did before doing all of the electronic stuff i did before, so most of the tracks here are piano playing, acoustic violins and cellos done by my friend alyssa (aeolianquench) and i manipulated them in the ntix contemporary orchestra track, and some other ambient/art pop type things that i wanted to make. with the small amount of knowledge of music theory and improvisation and chords i tried my best to make something that did not sound like generic lo-fi hip hop type bullshit but still sounds like something that i could enjoy, every layer of sound being intentional whether or not it fits in the time signature

time to relax
sienna sleep binaural beats for sleeping type shit right here"

Following the release of "Syntax 5", electronic musician Bonkoloid is proud to release a new album entitled "Syntax 6", marking the finality of the first half of the 12-LP project.

This new Syntax release is a simple one: Bonkoloid experiments with pianos, synthesizers, violins, and other musical instruments to create a morph of R&B concrete and Sound Collage. Collaborating with friends, bonkoloid and the rest of the NTIX crew created their own twisted version of hypnagogic/art/ambient pop. Recorded during the whole month of May 2021.

A weird collection of demos yet also close and warm, it is influenced by the insincerity of Dean Blunt and the emotional contemporary R&B of Frank Ocean, it is personal and digestible, yet confusing and outsider. The performances were recorded during the month of May, and they were all compiled and manipulated by bonkoloid. For the album, bonkoloid introduces new alias of his that corresponds with the moods and stages that these pieces were created during.

"The process of the album was unique in that floyd (bnkld) wanted us to record different pieces and chord progressions, all that he combined and stretched to create track 3. Me and alyssa (aeolianquench) were asked by floyd to hit our instruments at random places in our houses, in order to spring hollow timbres making it sound homemade and as 'close to DIY folk-y as possible', but also sounding hollow and vacant," says callie hill. "For me, the piece is an exploration over claustrophobic dirty spaces, The weird way how it sounds serene yet uncomfortable is amazing and intriguing, which is what bonkoloid strives for in his music. He wanted this album to sound like 'house music', as in music that releases visions of a house or a room, full of personal trinkets and a bed. The colors explored throughout this 27 minute composition is a large echo compressed in a popcorn-covered wall. One thing that Floyd always likes to have in his music, especially in this 5-song collection, is one key product: ambiguity." - NTIX
